18/02/2011 - What an introduction to Goole!
Jeannette

A new venue is always an exciting place to visit, but a little bit scarey as well as we don't know what kind of reception we will receive. It's like the first day at school - will anyone be your friend?

Well, we had nothing to worry about at The Junction in Goole. From the moment we arrived the staff were nothing but friendly and helpful, helping us with the getin and making sure that everyhing was completed in plenty of time (and with tea and coffee).

Pat came with us as our Wardrobe Mistress. She does a brilliant job making sure that our teams are always presentable when they go on stage. So when a little bit of tailoring on Hannah's costume was required, Ann stepped in.

The show went really well with the audience thoroughly enjoying Elmer's antics as he journeyed through the jungle looking for the berry bush. They joined in the happy dance with great excitement and told him in no uncertain terms that he was wonderful just the way he was.

After the show, two of the audience got to try out some of the puppets as they were walking past just as we were packing up. They had lots of great questions for Simon about how the puppets worked.

It didn't seem right not to take a picture of our helpful friends who were not averse to playing with the puppets either. Pat was so scared by Keith's crocodile that she shut her eyes.

So to all at the Junction in Goole, thanks for a lovely day and we look forward to another visit soon.

xx
