EDUCATION AND OUTREACH

As well as producing magical performances for children and touring them all around the country, Blunderbus also has its own team of freelance artists, workshop facilitators, and theatre practitioners who deliver a host of exciting drama-based outreach projects for schools, theatres, and local community groups.

Members of our core team, including our artistic director, are fully qualified teachers. This means that when devising a workshop, teacher inset day, or other activities, we're already familiar with the requirements of the school curriculum, and as teachers ourselves, we always consider the most exciting way to provide a memorable experience, whether this be utilising costumes, props, puppets, music, we incorporate all theatrical mediums to bring the workshop to life and to create an opportunity to learn through doing!

We can offer so much more than just a performance; from bespoke workshop activities with an individual class to teacher inset sessions. Our highly skilled practitioner’s liaise with you to get a full understanding of what you require and they have the expertise to create and deliver a programme of activities to suit your individual needs.

BESPOKE WORKSHOPS FOR KS1 AND KS2

We can formulate bespoke workshops to suit your individual needs, from an hour long session through to a week-long residency! Our team use a whole plethora of skills to devise workshops that are specific to your needs and deliver them in an exciting, dynamic, creative, magical way that really brings your topic to life!

Whether this is meeting Captain Horacio aboard his ship when studying pirates, recreating the story of Charlotte’s Web with puppets or being rushed into an air raid shelter because bombs are falling in WW2, we are confident we can enhance your children’s learning through the magic of live theatre, the magic of Blunderbus!

TEACHER INSET DAYS

Blunderbus can provide workshops and team building days for Teachers that are tailor made for you and based on the particular themes that are being presented in the session. As with the tailor made workshops for KS1 and KS2 we make these sessions as interactive, exciting and fun as possible so that your team can learn and develop their skills in an interesting and motivating way.

CREATIVE AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

As well as workshops for children, we can also work with adults who work with children; empowering them with skills and techniques that they can practically take into the classroom and use with their children.

Blunderbus had the pleasure of working with adults from 'Pyramid' an organisation that works with children aged 7 – 11 who are quiet, anxious, isolated, withdrawn or finding it difficult to make friends. The Blunderbus theme created a workshop that would enable the Pyramid employees to gain an understanding of how to encourage the children to boost their confidence, work well in groups and maintain friendships
